   Saxophones and violins are very expensive and can be difficult to learn if you dont know how to play another instrument. Used is obviously where you are going to find one. Prices usually go like this music stores>pawn shops>ebay/craigslist. Thats also how quality sometimes can go. You can find good things for cheap not in music stores but you have to know what your looking for so if you know someone that plays these instruments have them come with you.

   i learned the violin myself. i rented one from the local music shop, it was about 20 bucks a month. i bought the beginner books and they teach you everything. you might even be able to rent the books from your local library.

   Well it depends on ur type of instrument/music. Violins are mostly classic songs, butcan somtimes change to alternatives if used the right way. Saxophone’s are good for jazz,swing,blues,or normal/classics.But there are many variations, there is an alto, or tenor/bass sax. U can have various sizes and wood for violin. The one u choose start wit a beginer music book. One that has the fingerings, cd recordings, and tutorial on starting.

   If you have to learn by yourself without a teacher they go with the Saxophone. It’s easier to learn how to play the right notes and to play in tune.
