I’ve already met the requirement for Arts (1 year). However, i hesitate in taking Jazz Band in my Junior and Senior years since of the coming AP workload and im kind of ok with band and im not a 100% "i like band" sort of person. Is it good to show that you are consistent in band for four years on your high school resume? If so, heck i’ll do whatever it takes to establish a good resume.

1You really shouldn’t do whatever it takes to have an impressive resume. Just do the activities YOU enjoy. (exceptions of things like going to the movies, spending time w friends, vieogames, TV, etc)
The question should be "Do I like jazz band?" You should make your decision based on how much you enjoy band, not how it’ll make you resume look. Now on to your question, colleges definitely like commitment throughout high school, but they also look for quality too. If you have no accomplishments in jazz band over these 4 years, they’re not going to be really impressed.

2Yes it is important to show consistency. Why? Because it will show colleges that your not the kind of person the flakes out when the going gets tough; i.e your not going to quit their college after you see the work.
On a side note, if you really don’t like band that much, or don’t enjoy it. Quit. Nobody likes a negative person in band, and if anything be consistent at something you actually enjoy doing.
