I’ve known Mrs.D for about a year now and my experiance with her teaching me has not been pretty. First off whenever I brake or lose parts of my instrument she’ll yell and scream at me as if I perposfully blew up the world and I was happy about it. Do you think I’m happy when I can’t enjoy playing my trombone? Plus she put me in an "expendible" position as 4th trombone. Besides the base I play the lowest notes in the band, and she still doesn’t appriciate my work! Everyone else in our band agrees with me. We come there on our own spare time at 7:00 in the morning, 4 days a week just to be critizied and yelled at. Nagging is perfectly fine, but it can done in private, and not in front of the entire jazz band (including a very very cute guy). I think it can also be done in maybe 4 words such as "Get your trombone fixed." ,not a long run on sentence about how stupid I am. About one third of the jazz band started to conspire a strike, but it didn’t work. What should I do?
I also talked to the school administration, but they didn’t help me. We have 5 out of 8 saxs on our side, 2 out of 4 trombones, 3 out of 4 trumpets and our entire rythum section. And yet she still goes on…
Another problem is that everyone will STILL have to deal with her in regular band. And a bunch of "concerned parents" think that any changes will taint their well thought out lifes. I hate baby boomers.
